What is Request?
Request is a decentralized network that allows anyone to request a payment (a Request Invoice) and provide cryptographic proof of payment. It enables secure, fast and compliant global payments through its open-source platform. The network is powered by the Ethereum blockchain and consists of two main components: the Request Core protocol and the Request Network application. The Core protocol provides an infrastructure for creating, managing, and settling invoices in a secure, transparent, and trustless manner. The application layer allows users to create invoices with custom parameters such as currency type, amount due, payment terms, etc., as well as view their transaction history.
The Request Network also provides tools for developers to build applications on top of the protocol. This includes an API for developers to integrate with existing systems such as accounting software or e-commerce platforms. Additionally, users can use the Request Network’s smart contracts to automate payments or create complex financial instruments.
Request Network’s mission is to become the global standard for invoice payments by providing an open source platform that makes it easy for businesses of all sizes to send and receive payments securely and quickly. With its low fees and fast settlement times, it has already gained traction among small businesses who need quick access to funds without having to wait days or weeks for traditional banking solutions.
