MEXC Ventures Launches $30M Web3 Talent Fund — Kicks Off With Korea University

MEXC Ventures, an investment arm of crypto exchange MEXC, launches a $30 million initiative under its CSR program “IgniteX” to support Web3 talents and drive innovation across the crypto ecosystem. Announced on Wednesday, the five-year commitment is part of the company’s broader CSR strategy and will support blockchain education, developer training, and startup acceleration.

The campaign, dubbed IgniteX, kicks off with a partnership with Korea University’s Blockchain Research Institute. The collaboration will focus on academic exchange, research, and growing the next generation of blockchain engineers.

With plans to expand partnerships with academic institutions, the campaign will offer scholarships and blockchain courses to emerging Web3 talent. Participants will also gain access to the tools and resources needed to make blockchain development more approachable and accessible.

Through various hackathons, academic exchanges, technical events, and startup accelerator programs, the initiative will also help to identify promising Web3 talents and provide mentorship, support, and funding to projects and talents working on promising projects in decentralized infrastructure, fintech solutions, and blockchain-based AI solutions.

Interestingly, the launch of IgniteX coincided with a wave of educational and grant programs in the crypto industry. In January, Coinbase recently announced the launch of its own academy for developers in Latin America. The program from MEXC, unlike its competitors, includes a more comprehensive approach — from scholarships and hackathons to mentoring and direct funding.

MEXC Ventures has previously backed projects like TON and Aptos at their early stages, and this latest initiative further reinforces its long-term commitment to making an impactful and lasting contribution to the sustainable growth of the Web3 ecosystem.
